A little innovation with a car rig.

In automotive photography circles some people refer to a type of car shot as a "rig shot" referring to the rigging that holds the camera steady relative to the car.  A slow shutter speed and you get the effect of high speed.  Something like this:

I had another idea, a way to use the same principle but on a person.  Follow the jump for more.

I need to apologize briefly for an extended blogging hiatus.  I've been busy reading the George R.R. Martin Books a song of ice and fire (the HBO TV show Game of Thrones is based very closely on the books).  This left me very little time to do anything in the evenings but read.  I am a slow reader and those are some thick books!

With my excuses out of the way I can write about photography again and I had some interesting correspondence with CG pro prints.  They make canvas wraps for photographers at great prices and I reviewed them in previous blog posts.  Well they saw that and wanted to send me a "media pack" so I obliged.  I'm not above being bribed with gifts but its nice when the product appears to be among the best in the marketplace.

It wouldn't be fair of me to talk about their sample if I didn't also have some competition to look at.  A client gave me an 11x14 to use as a comparison although I cant tell where it was printed.  In addition I have of course ordered other canvas wraps from CG in the past so they didn't send me a one-off special edition to wow me over, I know this is how their prints are always made.
